Your new LinkedIn banner, headline and Featured

Five options, each a different layout. Pick one number and use that option's banner, headline and Featured tile together. Every option sends people to your free five-line form (the slide-by-slide plan you send back within two working days), with the keyword “PLAN”. Each banner is shown at real phone size too, so you can see it reads.

How to put it live

  1. Pick one option below.
  2. Upload the banner. It's already 1584 × 396.
  3. Paste the headline into Edit intro.
  4. Featured → edit your “Pre-Deck Plan” link (forms.gle/pLJEe9fMfGbD2cDR8) and upload the tile as its image.
  5. Reply to every “PLAN” with the form link, then the DM below.

The one-shot DM

Send it to anyone who likes or comments on your posts, or who's just connected. Swap the highlighted bits for each person.

Hey [FIRST NAME], I'm just heading out the door to [pick up one of the kids from ACTIVITY], so I thought I'd send this quickly before I forget.

I saw you [liked / commented on] my post about [TOPIC] (or: thanks for connecting!), so I wanted to properly say hello.

I'm Rebecca and I run Stir Creative. I build the board, AGM and investor decks where one decision is on the line, so the board decides on the day instead of saying "let's circle back".

I had a look at your profile, and you reminded me of [CLIENT NAME], who I was just working with.

[He/She] had [THE ROOM] coming up, and [RESULT].

It works because we start from the decision, not the design. The ask goes on slide 2, not slide 42, and the alternatives are closed before anyone can reopen them. One client sent me 52 slides recently. We cut it to 18 and the board approved it.

It's taken me 18 years and the decks behind about $10B of New Zealand approvals to get this right.

Right now we've got an offer where [THE OFFER].

As you can imagine, the "just in case" slide isn't a big fan of us haha. But the fewer papers that get parked, the better.

Anyway, I really have to go or I'll be late for [ACTIVITY].

Would you like me to walk you through how it works? I've got [TIME 1] or [TIME 2] free tomorrow.

If not, no biggie at all. I'm happy to just send you my five-line form instead. You tell me your argument in five lines, and I'll send back a slide-by-slide plan for your deck within two working days.

Nice to meet you!

Cheers,
Rebecca

Before it goes live

  • Ten or twenty minutes: your form says “five questions, ten minutes”, but your About says “twenty minutes”. Pick one so the promise matches.
  • Your client slides: option 2 shows the KiwiRail, Methanex and Alexander Group slides from your website. One KiwiRail slide in that set is marked “Commercial in Confidence”, so we used the Tāmaki Makaurau one instead. Check you're happy with all three on LinkedIn.
  • The office photo: option 3 uses the boardroom photo from your website. If it's a stock image, check its licence covers LinkedIn, or swap in a photo of a real room you've presented in.
